Rather than an innerspring or a foam core, the core of a pocket coil spring mattress is made of individually wrapped steel coils that are fused together and stitched to the mattress. These pocketed steel coils allow independent suspension within the core frame. Pocket coils provide excellent contouring. They also cushion pressure points and keep your movement from bothering your partner.

With foam’s climbing prices along with its tendency to soften over time, we think your best bet for a luxury mattress is a pocket coil spring mattress.

The two main types of latex used in mattresses today are Dunlop and Talalay latex. Their differences lie in how they are manufactured. At Monarch Rest, we have used both in the past but have found that Talalay latex has a more consistent feel and the firmness does not vary as much. We have been using Talalay latex from the same supplier for over 8 years with excellent success.
