Yes, the Perfect Choice is a replaceable pillow top mattress that would fall into the hybrid mattress category. A hybrid mattress is an innerspring mattress that has specialty foam padding (latex or memory foam or a combination).
Hybrid mattresses can use either, or sometimes a combination of both, in their comfort layer. Memory foam hybrids offer closer body contouring and a slower, more cushioned feel, while latex hybrids respond more quickly, sleep cooler, and tend to last longer. The Perfect Choice collection offers both options, so you can choose whichever fits your sleep preferences and budget.
A hybrid mattress typically has three main components: a coil support core (usually encased coils), a transition layer of firmer foam or latex to smooth the transition between coils and comfort layers, and a top comfort layer of memory foam, latex, or polyfoam for cushioning. Different manufacturers use different materials and thicknesses on their hybrid options. Perfect Choice is a hybrid mattress with an added (and replaceable) pillow top.
Hybrid mattresses are known to sleep cooler, with more bounce and edge support than all-foam mattresses, because of the coil base, which allows airflow beneath the comfort layers. Memory foam works well for close body contouring and motion isolation. Sleepers who want the pressure relief of foam without the "stuck" feeling might prefer the hybrid combo.
Most hybrid mattresses range from 10 to 14 inches thick, with the coil base typically making up 6-8 inches and the comfort/transition layers making up the remaining 4-6 inches. Yes, rotating a hybrid mattress 180 degrees every 3 to 6 months helps evenly distribute wear across both the coil base and the comfort layer, extending its lifespan. Most hybrids are one-sided and shouldn't be flipped, since the comfort layer is only on one side. Perfect Choice is the exception. It can be flipped, but of course, the pillow top should always be placed on the sleeping side!
